Cyclists on the Waskerley Way
Cyclists on the Waskerley Way
For much of the eastern end of the C2C National Cycle Route LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) the route follows old railway tracks, including the Waskerley Way which follows the old Stanhope and Tyne railway up to Park Head. The chimney on the skyline is a relic of the old lead-mining industry which was so important in the area in the 19th century.
