Noseley Hall
Noseley Hall
Originally granted to the Marti-vals, sub-tenants of the Norman Earls of Leicester in the 13th century, Noseley has been the home of the Hazelrigg family since 1419 when Thomas Hasilrige came down from Northumberland to marry the Martival heiress, Isabel Heron. Built in 1728 by the 7th baronet, Sir Arthur Hesilrige to replace the original 15th century Martival house, this Grade II* listed building was modelled on the original medieval courtyard plan. Although much altered since 1835: rebuilding of the west wing; addition of a clock tower to the stables; cement render coving the original brickwork; addition of two large Victorian bay windows to the south elevation, the interior largely retains it's 18th century style.

Adjacent to the Hall is the 13th century family chapel and laid out to the south is parkland and lakes and a stunning view across miles of Leicestershire countryside. The sad thing is that, after over 600 years of being in the same family, the estate has been put up for sale.
