This is one of the highest lengths of wall remaining on the site - the rest is mostly no more than 0.5m above present ground level. It can also be seen in TQ4778 : Lesnes Abbey.
Lesnes Abbey
The remains of an Augustinian abbey, founded in 1178 and closed in the Reformation in 1525, are now a public open space owned by the Borough of Bexley. The adjacent woods are a nature reserve.
