Up with the groyne: Borth sea defences
Up with the groyne: Borth sea defences
It's rather like pulling teeth. An excavator lifts a section of groyne from the beach. The length of the supporting posts shows how deep they were originally set and why it was necessary to dig so far down to remove them. The timber from the groynes is being piled up at the southern end of the beach and will be available to residents for firewood (or any other purpose) later on.
