Approaching the junction of North Street and Victoria Road, which leads eventually to the home he leased in Record Road.
A literary inspiration
Visiting the splendid Emsworth Museum LinkExternal link I picked up a leaflet costing 10/- (50p) entitled "A walk around Emsworth with PG Wodehouse". Starting at the railway station it guided me around what he called "this sleepy-by-the-world-forgotten sort of place". The names he encountered here inspired many of his most splendid creations: The Duchess of Havant, Lord Bosham, Lady Ann Warblington, The Hon Galahad Threepwood and his woolly headed elder brother Clarence LinkExternal link
