Remains of Y Naw Carreg stone circle
"Naw Carreg" means "nine stones". The name comes from a time when there were nine visible standing stones but now there are only 3 and they are not standing anymore.
According to the Royal Commission ( Link
) there were once 14 stones in the circle. The circle also gets a small mention in the inaugural 1961 edition of The Carmarthenshire Historian ( Link
) which states that the circle is 60 yards in diameter but the position of the stones at the moment is much closer to the centre mound. See also SN5811 : Centre mound of Y Naw Carreg stone circle
