Great Dixter house & gardens
Open to the public through the spring and summer, Great Dixter is a magnificent house, gardens and outbuildings situated off High Park in Northiam.
The grade I listed gardens Linkwere created from 1911, with a main framework Sir Edwin Lutyens.
The house, is a 15th century grade I listed Linkhall house. The house was re-modelled and enlarged by Lutchens in 1910 with another 16th century hall house moved here from nearby Benenden to create one larger house and become a romantic recreation of a medieval manor house, complete with great hall, parlour, solar and yeoman's hall.
Great Dixter Oast is an early 18th century, grade II* listed Linkoast house converted from an earlier barn.
Situated at the front of the site, the barn, is grade II listed Link18th century weatherboarded barn hipped barn. Originally of thatch it now has a wooden shingle roof.
