Looking up the line from Ravensbourne station
The Catford Loop was opened in 1892 and was the last major suburban line to be constructed in south-east London. This view looks up the line from the Crab Hill bridge adjacent to Ravensbourne station. Because of its location, the station always had a rural feel to it, enhanced to the north as the line passed through Beckenham Place Park.
