Sailing boat memorial at Cwm yr Eglwys
This model of a typical 19th century coastal brig commemorates the many such vessels that were lost at sea together with their crews in the great storm of October 25th, 1859 which also destroyed the 6thc. village church of St Brynach - its remaining belfrey can be seen in the churchyard behind. The replica, made of metal, is the work of local blacksmith Eifion Thomas.
