The road from Ramshaw and the A53 approaches from the left with the path along the ridge to Hen Cloud rises in the centre. The map shows the road continuing over the ridge and down towards Meerbrook/Upper Hulme there used to be a gate across the road here that was usually locked but I didn't think to check if it was still there. We turned here in our walk to return by the Dane Valley Way in the valley bottom.
