Maritime Prowess by Albert Hemstock Hodge
Maritime Prowess by Albert Hemstock Hodge, taken 11 years ago
This statue stands on the western end pavilion of Hull Guildhall. It dates from about 1903 and depicts a female figure standing at the prow of a boat drawn by seahorses. Some websites erroneously describe it as Boadicea. It is the work of Albert Hemstock Hodge the Scottish sculptor who was born on Islay. For the figure of "Strength" on the eastern pavilion see TA1028 : Strength by Albert Hemstock Hodge.
