Hindhead Tunnel Vision
On 14 May 2011, the yet-to-be-opened Hindhead Tunnel was opened to allow people to walk through it, prior to its official opening to traffic later in the year. Links to the other bore of the twin-bore tunnel are placed at intervals to allow for escape and emergency access. This is the point where the two sides of the tunnel met on 26 February 2009. NOTE that the position is an estimate, as there's no GPS signal underground.
