Wymondham Windmill :: SK8519
Wymondham Windmill is a towermill constructed from Ironstone and brick from around 1814. Originally it has six patent sails to power its set of three stones. Due to lightning damage in the 1900's the mill was reduced to four sails. This continued until 1922 when a traction engine ground the flour via an external belt system.
Grinding corn ceased in 1952 but cattle feed continued until 1960. The mill has been partially restored and is in the grounds of a tearoom and shops. Link![]()
