SO1224 : Fork off the footpath
near to Llansantffraed, Powys, Great Britain

Fork off the footpath
The path forks here to separate off mountain bikers and horse riders from their poor relations, plodding, toiling walkers. In order to avoid collisions or near misses. Never the twain shall meet - hopefully. The zippy, zinging downhill biker or the barely in control pony-trekker or cantering experienced equestrian would have both gravity and the element of surprise to their advantage and the humble foot-slogger would have at best only their reflexes as protection. No contest! Note how the footpath is free of stones and wider than the stone littered narrow channel eroded by bike wheels and hooves. Interesting.
