This is the old visitor centre at Abberton Reservoir Nature Reserve. The Essex Wildlife Trust lease land from the Essex & Suffolk Water Company for a nature reserve. For more information see Link The reservoir is being expanded by raising the TL9819 : Abberton Dam the reservoir will expand from just over 4 square km to 6.7 square km. This will means the whole reserve will be flooded, a new one has been established and the TL9617 : Visitors Centre Abberton Reserve opened in March 2012.
