SO5310 : Upper Redbrook Tunnel

near to Redbrook, Gloucestershire, Great Britain

Upper Redbrook Tunnel
Upper Redbrook Tunnel
Northern portal of the 66yd, single track tunnel on the former GW line between Monmouth and Newland, photographed in 1980. This lies to the NE of the longer, 264yd Lower Redbrook tunnel (SO534106) on the same line. Thanks to Peter Dean for pointing out my error in initially assigning the wrong grid ref. Both tunnels lie in the same grid square, and the photo was taken 25 years ago, so forgive the confusion!
