Welwick Village and St. Mary's Church
Welwick Village and St. Mary's Church
Traffic lights were installed near St. Mary's Church at Welwick even though there is no road junction at this point. The heavy traffic travelling to and from industrial sites near Easington was thought to be a danger to people and property because of the sharp bends and narrowness of the road, so the lights allow vehicles to move through the village in only one direction at a time.
