Tameside Hippodrome, Oldham Road, Ashton-under-Lyne
The Tameside Hippodrome originally opened in 1904 as the Ashton Empire Hippodrome Theatre. In 1932 the Theatre was closed reopened as a cinema which was renamed the "New Empire" in the following year.

In 1964 the Theatre was bought by the EMI group and renamed the ABC. This name was to continue until 1974 when it again closed. After refusing an application to convert it to bingo, Tameside Council operated it as "Tameside Theatre" until 1992 whne it became "Tameside Hippodrome".

The building has been vacant since the theatre closed in 2008.
