William Hayes's Photographic Studio, Ryedale Folk Museum, Hutton-le-Hole
This building was first erected by William Hayes (1871-1940) in York in 1902. When he moved to Hutton-le-Hole in 1911 he dismantled the studio and brought it with him, adding the entrance lobby (on the right) glazed using 140 glass negatives stripped of their emulsion. It was moved to the museum in 1991.
