Recreation Ground in Kirkcowan

I see this view every time I drive through Kirkcowan on my way home. As a hill walker, bog trotter and beach comber I always look to the horizon to see what the weather is doing. The hill on the horizon is the Cairnsmore of Fleet NX4966 : On a clear day you can see for miles and at 711 metres is one of the highest peaks in South West Scotland. I've been up it to the summit and the weather on the hill can change at the drop of a hat, four seasons in one day. From Kirkcowan it can appear sunny, snow topped or covered in cloud from the 500 metre mark upwards like today. The goal posts always change and the scenery is simply great.
