Hawthorn Shieldbug
Hawthorn Shieldbug
As the name suggests the Hawthorn Shieldbug (Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale) usually lives on Hawthorn trees especially enjoying the berries, but eating the leaves until the berries are developed. This little beastie was resting on a nettle leaf beside the path to Gawton's Rock on Greenway Bank Country Park.
