Torquay inner and outer Harbours
Torquay inner and outer Harbours
This view shows the inner harbour which is closest to the camera and is designed with a special lifting sill to stop all the water emptying out at low tide so that it never dries, whilst the outer harbour is tidal.

The dome in the middle distance is a giant birdcage known a 'Living Coasts' which is like a zoo with penguins, seals and a range of displays of creatures and plants associated with the sea.

In the far distance is the limestone headland known as Berry Head.
