McLennan Arch, Glasgow Green west entrance
McLennan Arch, Glasgow Green west entrance
A much-travelled monument. Originally part of the Ingram Street Assembly Rooms (1792), the arch was moved to Monteith Row in 1892 at the expense of Bailie James McLennan. It was moved again to the North Entrance of Glasgow Green on Greendyke Street in 1922, and finally (?) reached this site in 1991. The Nelson Monument can be seen in the distance.
