Fordham Park: open space
The centre of the park is a large open space, bounded by wide paths installed in the 2010 redevelopment. New trees have been planted alongside the paths. In the distance is the new Deptford Green School building under construction.
Fordham Park
The area immediately to the west of New Cross station was developed with terraced housing from the 1850s on what had previously been farmland. The housing was demolished in the early 1970s, and Fordham Park (named after the last Mayor of Deptford) was opened in 1975. It was extensively redeveloped in 2010.
