View of the London Underground ventilation shaft in the centre of Soho Square
This Tudor building is actually a London Underground ventilation shaft, either for the Central line between Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus stations or the Northern line between Tottenham Court Road and Leicester Square stations. It is more likely to be the latter as the Central line looks to follow the line of Oxford Street, whilst the Northern line follows Charing Cross Road. Having said that, however, tube lines do tend to wiggle about a bit to avoid passing under certain buildings or to pass under ventilation shafts in particular locations, so really it could be either of them. Looking south-southwest.
