The 'Pelican' at Bangor
The 'Pelican' at Bangor
The tall ship 'Pelican' at Bangor harbour, visiting for the 2011 'Sea Bangor' festival. This ship was built in France (by Chantiers et Ateliers Augustin Normand, Le Havre) and launched in 1948 a double beam Arctic Trawler named Pelican. She continued as a trawler until 1968, beginning a new life as the coaster 'Kadett'. In 1995 the ship was converted into the Sail Training Ship seen here.
