Unitarian Meeting House
A frontal view of SJ8446 : The Unitarian Old Meeting House. The original building dates from the 18th century with renovation carried out in the 19th century and the upper storey added in the 20th century. The stonework on the right hides the steps to St Giles' Church from Lower Street. The blue plaques on the front of the Meeting House show that the master potter Josiah Wedgwood (SJ8446 : Blue plaque (1)) and the scientist and theologian Joseph Priestley (SJ8446 : Blue plaque (2)) were amongst the worshippers here.
