Lane control for non-motor traffic
The Cardiff Harbour Authority takes a keen interest in safety and clear signage. The cycle and footpaths across the barrage split here at its northeastern end. I wasn't entirely sure which lane to take when returning, though. Anyway, at least they provided me and my fellow walkers with a warning to look right before joining the dual use section, so I guess it's okay to use the pedestrian lane in contraflow.
