Cardiff bay barrage
Cardiff bay barrage
The footpath and cyclepath from Penarth to Mermaid Quay run along the top of the barrage. Beyond the bend lie the sluice gates and locks which control the flow of water, ships and fish between the freshwater side (right) and the open sea (left). Penarth Head lies beyond the barrage.
Although not 'ancient and historic' yet, the barrage is registered in the Coflein[1] database LinkExternal link .
