Arden's House, Abbey Street, Faversham
Arden's House, Abbey Street, Faversham
A grade II* listed building, named after Thomas Arden who was mayor of Faversham in 1548. The house dates from about 1475. Arden was murdered here at the instigation of his wife, Alice, in 1551 and the story was made into a play called "Arden of Faversham". It is now a private residence but is sometimes open as part of the Open House scheme and the play has been produced in the garden.
