Pockerley Old Hall, Beamish Museum
The Old Hall, is an original building on the museum site. The building dates back to the C12th. The C13th saw a period of expansion of the farm’s holding and in around 1440 a solid stone strong-house or Pele Tower was built on the hill top. Parts of this building still survive, visible here on the buttressed east gable adjoining the newer house built in the late 1700s.
