Marking the southern edge of the navigable channel of the River Clyde is a series of stone pillars, some with beacons or other navigational aids attached atop. This one, Dumbuck, is marked on the O.S 1:25,000 map as a lighthouse.

The road bridge seen in the distance, immediately to the left of the tower, is, I would guess, part of junction 31 of the M8 motorway.
