SP2069 : DEUS NOSTER REFUGIUM

near to Rowington, Warwickshire, Great Britain

DEUS NOSTER REFUGIUM
DEUS NOSTER REFUGIUM
The Latinised refrain 'God is our refuge' from Psalm 46 forms an inscription on the war memorial in the churchyard of St Laurence, Rowington.
Rowington
According to Douglas Hickman's 'Warwickshire' (1979), Rowington was "an early clearing in the Forest of Arden, and a parish in late Saxon times. Spared the fate of Claverdon by Birmingham's green belt, Rowington seems untouched by the 20th century."
