Guibal Fan House
Guibal Fan House
The Guibal Fan House (known locally as the "SS Castle" because of its markings) was
built around 1870. This building held a steam powered engine driving a huge fan and was used to
pull air from the mine causing a draught of fresh air to enter through other openings.
