Good God! What do I see here?
The first Tall Ships Race of 2011 was from Waterford, Ireland to Inverclyde, Scotland and the arrival of the ships at James Watt Dock and the Great Harbour in Greenock marked the start of a four day festival of fairs and entertainment from the 9th-12th July.
An explosion of colour representing the sailing nations of the world took place on the afternoon of Sunday 10th July. The Crew Parade involved around 1500 Tall Ships crew members from over 50 sailing ships who made their way through the town of Greenock with music and songs. The Crew Parade started at 4.00pm from outside the Waterfront Leisure Centre in Custom House Way and made its way via Cathcart Street to Cathcart Square.
