This distant view of the city from was taken from the right bank of the River Trent near the Nottingham Sailing Club at Adbolton at about 8.30 on a July evening. Silhouetted landmarks include the Rotunda of the old General Hospital on Standard Hill (extreme left), the spire of High Pavement Unitarian Church, the Council House dome and the white tower of Nottingham Trent University's Newton Building.
