Alum Bay Sands
Alum Bay Sands
The coloured sands at Alum Bay were used by the Victorians to create layered patterns of colour in glass bottles. This is still a popular pursuit today. You are no longer allowed to dig for the sands yourself due to the erosion of the cliffs.
