1939-45 war graves at Carew Cheriton
These fifteen headstones commemorate young airmen who served with the RAF, or Polish, Dutch and Canadian airforces at RAF Carew Cheriton during the Second World War. They gave the ultimate sacrifice and each headstone makes very interesting reading. RAF Carew Cheriton operated in support of flying boat operations in nearby Pembroke Dock, providing fighter support and was also a training school for wireless operators. It was attacked by the Luftwaffe in April 1941. The station closed in 1945.
