Ford, Tripsdale Beck
Well it is marked as a ford on the map. But devastation by the recent heavy rains is evident. These storms caused flash floods and much damage downstream in Hawnby and Helsmley. The footpath emerges from the bracken immediatelt above the small landslip on the right. In 1901 Michael Heavisides recorded stepping stones at this crossing; long since disappeared downstream.
