Nettlecombe Tout promontory fort
Nettlecombe Tout promontory fort
View from the SE corner of the grid square towards the rampart of Nettlecombe Tout iron-age promontory fort. The far sides of the fort have the natural defence of the steep sides of the chalk spur, and this bank and ditch cut the fort off from the rest of the spur. It is possible that the fort was never completed.
