Interior of the orangery at Wrest Park
The orangery dates from around 1836 and was inspired by French models. The orange trees were grown in tubs so that they could be moved outside during the frost-free summer months. The large Jacobethan fireplace came from the old house, demolished about the time the orangery was built.
