Under the bridge
Under the bridge
Looking under the closest bridge visible in SJ9059 : Twin Bridges, it is one of two bridges carrying the Himalayan Walk over a bend in the stream. The walk was designed and laid out by James Bateman in the 19th century whilst he lived in Biddulph Grange. Although now removed, Rhododendrons once lined the hillside and the stream was designed to look like a mountain stream with man-made weirs to resemble waterfalls. This area is now the Biddulph Grange Country Park and is owned and managed by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
