Crownhill Down
Crownhill Down
This is the western side of this area of 'lowland heath'. Crownhill Down is on the southwestern edge of Dartmoor but outside the National Park. This heathland hosts some rare fauna and flora but has in recent years been threatened by developments both from the china clay industry and mining for tungsten. As far as I am aware, neither proposal has yet gone through.
