Ptarmigan Ridge - View East to Ben Lomond Summit
The Ptarmigan ridge offers an alternative descent from Ben Lomond back to Rowardennan to returning by the main path - also offers fine views of the summit. This view is looking due E from the ridge, The ridge itself is mainly rough grass (after the initial rocky descent down a ridge off the top - see grid square NN0636) and is easy walking. The route gets slightly steeper towards the end, but offers excellent view of some waterfalls lower down.
