This is a 4-berth Landing Craft Troop (LCT) hard built in May 1943 and used for D Day embarkation in June 1944. The adjacent harbourside area has recently been rebuilt, with a memorial see SX9163 : D Day Embarkation Ramps memorial, Torquay Harbour.
