J5083 : The 'Rolldock Sea' in Belfast Lough
4 km from Bangor, Ireland

The 'Rolldock Sea' in Belfast Lough
Specialist heavy lift ship the 'Rolldock Sea' Link
at anchor in Belfast Lough. The ship is designed to carry heavy and/or abnormally shaped loads. These can be loaded onboard via the roll on/roll off ramp at the stern or lifted onto the deck via the cranes; the ship is also semi-submersible allowing cargo to be loaded at sea (see Link
for further information). After anchoring here for several days the ship left the lough, apparently bound for New Orleans in the United States of America.
