The Temple Wood circles
The Temple Wood circles
The Temple Wood stone circle is in the background, but the rough circle of stones in the foreground mark the site of an earlier wood circle dating back to around 3500BC. The site was excavated in 1928/29 and again between 1974 and 1980.
