The occasion was a visit by Sir Robert Menzies (the man with white hair looking at the camera) who at the time was Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. His retinue is seen outside the Town Hall at 11:21 am, the east door of which can be seen next door to TR0624 : Sergeant's House and Gaol, New Romney Eventually he was taken to the car park at Southlands School TR0625 : Southlands School, Dymchurch Road, New Romney in 1968 from where he was escorted to the front entrance of the building TR0625 : Southlands School, Dymchurch Road, New Romney in 1968
