NM5625 : Above Glen Byre
taken 7 years ago, 4 km from Lochbuie, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

Above Glen Byre
A view over Glen Byre from the lower slopes of Beinn na Croise. A number of streams can be seen discharging into the glen after very heavy rainfall. An ancient track leading from Rossal to Loch Buie via Man an Trotanaich descends into the glen and is just visible in this image. Beinn nan Gobhar (right) and Ben Buie (left) can be seen behind Glen Byre. These mountains are composed of rock formed by tertiary volcanic activity and are younger than the rock formations found to the west on the Ross of Mull and Iona.
