A gravestone detail at Roberton
This is the top of an 18th century wall monument gravestone in a small cemetery at Roberton. The portrait figure on the right represents the deceased holding a book to show religious devotion. The menacing figure on the left is a symbol of mortality, a crown-wearing skeleton, the King of Terrors, holding an hourglass and a dart. The gravestone is on the far left in this view of the cemetery NT4314 : An old cemetery at Roberton.
